I know what you're gonna say before you say it. Yes, Joe and I used to live in the DESERT! Yes, I know we are now officially wimpy. But it's been over 4 years, darnit! And it's been HOT by Seattle standards, no doubt about it. This is what the kids were doing last week to stay cooler. I'd let all the early morning cool(ish) air in until it got too hot. Then, I'd button up the whole house. Windows were closed, shades drawn, we even put a towel over the window in the door! It worked as good as could be expected. I think the kids were a little confused why it was so dark all the time, but we made it through :)
