Simba

A few days after Christmas (and after MUCH deliberation between mom and dad), we got a new kitten! His name is Simba, which if you know anything about Maddie doesn't shock you one bit. When we got him, he was a 4 month old Tabby. ....He's still a Tabby. Haha!



Sleeping on his cat jungle gym. My dad and I made this for Daisy 8 years ago, but when we lived in the condo, we sent it back to my parents. Simba took a liking to it, and since we have room again, we brought it down to Kennewick with him. You should have seen Daisy! She was beyond thrilled to see it again, which shocked the heck outa me. Unfortunately for her, it came with the kitten.



I've been very impressed at how Daisy's handling the new guy. She's coming out more, and spending more time in other rooms. With each family addition she's slowly removed herself from the house and stays mostly in our room. It's sad, really. So I'm happy to see her out and about more! But of course, she keeps Simba in line :)



All three animals hanging out. Simba and Hammie get along GREAT!! Which was a big factor in getting a kitten now. So they could grow up together. Hammie is very gentle with him, and he loves to attack her and play chase. It's oddly entertaining.



And of course there's Maddie. She LOVES Simba. Many times a little too much (as you can tell by the look on his face). But they're learning to get along. She's doing much better at giving him space and just petting instead of always picking up. Ben....could care less. Haha! Boys!

I am amazed at how quickly and how well Simba has imbedded himself into the family. He's awesome!!! Joe and I are amazed at how he plays with everyone, but is more than willing to sit and cuddle with us at night. He even cuddles with the dog and, occasionally, the kids! You just look at him and he starts purring. We call him motorboat. :) We are most definitely all done adding to the family for a very very long time. But what a great little family we have!
