But anyway, onward and upward....
Saturday was kind of an odd day for us. Our friends Jon and Tina bought a house and Joe was dispensed, with the mighty Chevy, to help with the move. I think he had a good time and they got most of the items moved, so it was very successful! This also meant that I was on my own for the morning, which for a Saturday is quite rare. But we got lucky!! My good friend Laura, was also husbandless (is that a word?) on Saturday morning due to a golf game. It was supposed to be gorgeous out, so we packed up the kids and headed to Coulon Park. The kids had a GREAT time playing on the toys and then in the sand. We had a little picnic lunch on the beach and then headed home for naps. It was a GREAT morning!!
That afternoon after naps, I got the kids dressed and we headed up to see Jon's new house and have a barbeque. They have a beautiful backyard and the kids enjoyed getting to run around. A friend's wife, Robyn, showed up with their new puppy...ok, puppy is a strong word. How 'bout giant hampster? Anyway, the kids LOVED that. Ben kept yelling "puppy," which was adorable. He pronounciates very well when he wants to. The kids even held a caterpillar. Maddie that was very cool and it stayed with her for a long time! Unfortunately the night has to end sometime, so we ate some hotdogs and headed home. It was a very fun day :)
Sunday, we went to church in the morning and Uncle Dan came to visit that night. The kids (and us) always love seeing him and we enjoyed some AWESOME ribs prepared by Joe. Yummo!
Monday evening we were invited to the Volkers for a barbeque. It was a spur of the moment get-together with just us, Dave's parents, and Heather's sister, Paulette. For *this* I actually have pictures!!! Yay! The kids played in the yard, we had yummy burgers and salad, and enjoyed the company immensely. The kids had a great time playing with Joe. He did all kinds of acrobatic moves with them, played ball and frisbee. I think Joe was more tired last night than the kids! :)
